Help support Ryn and Ethan’s upcoming trip with Performers Without Borders to the Philippines this November.

On this month-long trip a team of artists will donate circus skills, children’s shows, and fire performances to children, wider communities, and youth leaders in Bayawan, Apo Island and remote locations for a month. You can make a small donation to help cover program costs.

Your contribution directly supports our ability to bring the joy of circus to communities who would otherwise not have access to this artform.

Ethan and I are volunteering for the Performers Without Borders program in November, where a team of 6 artists will deliver circus skills workshops, children’s shows, and community-wide fire shows to children, at-risk youth, wider communities, and youth leaders in Bayawan and Apo Island in the Philippines, as well as other remote locations such a Bokaw!

The tour is in it’s 3rd year of a 5 year program, and in addition to teaching skills and bringing performances, we also donate circus equipment to communities so they can continue the skills they have learnt.

Ryn joined the 2024 PWB Philippine’s tour where she was able to share her passion for circus with countless young people (actually PWB did count – you can take a read their impact report) Whilst the tour was definitely challenging at times, it was overwhelming to see the effect circus has on these young people, the joy and energy it brings. We even saw the seed for an independent circus club start to grow in Bayawan City. Ryn is extremely excited to return to the Philippines to continue teaching in the communities she met last year – and also extremely excited that Ethan will be joining her where they can share their duo performances.

Whilst every effort has been made to keep costs down, there are still funds that need to be raised for the month long program delivery. These are $2050 AUD ($500GBP each)which goes towards accommodation, transport between locations, food, and transport of donated workshop equipment to the Philippines (which stays with the local communities). There is also $1800 towards our flight costs which we are hoping to raise funds towards.

Performers Without Borders is an amazing organisation which has shared the joy of circus in many under-priviledged communities around the world for many years. Ever since I first heard about the organisation 13 years ago it has been a dream to be involved. I am extremely passionate about the positive impact circus has on individual’s social, physical, mental, spiritual and community wellbeing and would love to be able to share this with others on the tour.
